Text Exercises (due Oct. 6th)

1. Change the phon.pl program so that it includes an analysis of the final consonants in the child’s words.

2. Some of the child’s utterances in the transcript Adam05.txt are followed by the tag ‘%spa: $IMIT’ indicating the utterance imitated a preceding utterance. Write a program that calculates separate MLUw’s for the child’s imitated and non-imitated utterances.

3. The transcript Adam05.txt includes part of speech tags for all sentences. For example, Adam’s first production

      *CHI: come Cromer ?

is followed by the part of speech line

      %mor: v|come n:prop|Cromer ?

This line analyzes Adam’s first word as a verb and his second word as a proper noun.

      Write a program that produces a concordance for the parts of speech for Adam’s completely intelligible utterances. Your program should produce an output that looks like the following:
